TT #3: Counting Concerns

21… 22… 23… STOP THE COUNT!!! Jemimah looked up, startled, as a frazzled looking young man burst through the door, interrupting her tally. She’d been counting at the station for hours, and was getting ready to call it a night and announce the results when he burst in frantically.

Irritation dripping from her voice, she asked him why she needed to stop counting. Breathless, he responded that the numbers were wrong. But how could he know that when he hadn’t been at the station?

With a grin on his face, he picked up two cans of Coke and went to the counter to check out. “See? I told you the numbers were wrong. You might want to go back to 21.”

Then he winked and left the gas station.
