TT #18: Good Gods Pt. I

I don’t believe in the gods.

At least, not in the way you do. Your faith is based on never seeing them but in some belief that they are good, kind judges of our mortal existence with powers beyond anything we can conceive of. Me? I don’t believe in them.

Why? Because I’ve met them.

You’re right about the power part. The gods are capable of great feats of creation and destruction, but instead, they choose to do… nothing. Yup. Instead, they spend their days traipsing around in the heavens.

Their days are full of excess, and their nights are full of debauchery. The truth is, all their power means nothing, because they opt not to use it. So I don’t believe in the gods.

They exist, but when it comes down to it, we’re all alone.

Prompt: I don’t believe in the gods
